Help us show how #UMNExtWorks

By Jessica Barnes, communications specialist

In 2018, University of Minnesota Extension held its first #UMNExtWorks Twitter campaign. The reach, the number of times #UMNExtWorks is viewed in Twitter feeds, was over 150,000 — with a good mix of programs across Minnesota.

We are gearing up for the second year of the campaign to promote Extension, and looking for events and news occurring the week of, and weeks surrounding, February 25. Our goal is to raise legislative awareness during the beginning of the next session, gain a reach of at least 250,000 and to get #UMNExtWorks trending.

Here is how you can help:
  • Check out #UMNExtWorks on Twitter to see what type of work was focused on last year to get ideas of what we are looking for this year.
  • Send me photos, videos, maps, links to content, stories, articles, etc. related to your work.
  • Are you proud of your work? Make a short video on your phone explaining why and I can share it. Or you can share it from your own account.
  • Tweet or retweet Extension’s work — remember to use #UMNExtWorks, #resilience, and tag @UMNExtFD.
  • Send us both in-person and online events and trainings.
Extension Center for Family Development’s theme is #resiliency but ask that you send in anything you have going on. If you have already sent information to Michael, thank you. We will share your work on the @UMNExtFD Twitter account.

Please contact me or Michael Brott with any questions.
