Consider Giving to FD During Community Fund Drive

Hopefully you are all considering giving during this year's Community Fund Drive. Did you know that Family Development has a number of U of M Foundation funds that you can give to? Here's a summary of the FD funds. (Note: You can contribute to the funds without links with an offline giving form. See the instructions after the summary.)

Extension Center for Family Development Fund To support Extension Center for Family Development programs, activities, and staff
Family Development Staff Memorial Fund (Fund: 8882) To purchase flowers or other small gifts to send to FD staff (or their family) upon the death of a loved one; established in memory of FD staff member Kimberly Coffee
Qualey/Skjervold Extension Scholarship and Professional Development Fund To support the professional growth and development of Extension professionals whose work impacts the well-being of Minnesota families
Children, Youth & Family Consortium (Fund: 3681) To provide support for programs and outreach of CYFC, including travel, speakers, receptions, public relations, and more
Children, Youth & Family Consortium’s Children’s Mental Health Program (Fund: 11698) To support children’s mental health programming and activities within CYFC
Sharon Torbenson O’Gorman Fund in Nutrition To provide support to nutrition education and outreach efforts, in particular diabetes education and prevention programs
Cooking Matters® Minnesota To support nutrition education efforts throughout the Cooking Matters® Minnesota program
Westbrook Nutrition Education Fund To support Extension’s nutrition education programming throughout Minnesota; established in memory of Cynthia Westbrook, manager of the Minnesota Department of Human Services Food Stamp (now SNAP) Nutrition Education program office
Jean Illsley Clarke and Richard Clarke Fund for Parent Education (Fund: 20238) To support parent education programs
Jean W. Bauer Fund in Family Financial Management To support program initiatives in the areas of financial literacy, public policy education for families living with limited incomes, curriculum and online resource development, and professional development opportunities for Extension family economics staff; established in memory of Extension Specialist Jean Bauer
Working Families Tax Credit Program (Fund: 4140) To promote education and awareness of the earned income and working family tax credits for low income families in Minnesota
Minnesota Latino Financial Literacy Program (Fund: 7543) To support programs in family financial literacy education, targeting the Latino community in Minnesota
NEAFCS-Minnesota Affiliate (Fund: 8094) To support the growth and development of the Minnesota affiliate of the National Extension Association of Family & Consumer Sciences

To give to the funds listed above that are not hyperlinked:
  1. Download the offline giving form.
  2. Fill in your contact information.
  3. Under "Step 3," in the "Agency/Charity NOT listed..." field, write the fund name, “UM Fund” and the fund number listed above. Complete the rest of the form and follow the instructions for submitting the form.
