By Hannah Jastram, Communications Associate

This week, University of Minnesota Extension unveiled a new website that will help make the healthy choice the easy choice for food shelf operators and clients.

The website, Building Better Food Shelves, features training, print materials, and videos that are free of charge to food shelf directors, volunteers, and others working to improve healthy food access. Four sections comprise the site:

“We’re very excited to offer these resources to our communities,” said Kelly Kunkel, Extension educator in health and nutrition. “One of the main ways we support communities who are working toward healthy food access is by providing technical assistance, and this website gives us another way to do that work.”

University of Minnesota Extension Health and Nutrition programs improve food literacy, physical activity, and healthy food access for Minnesotans to promote health and reduce disparities using University resources and proven educational and engagement strategies.
